Frequently Asked Questions

Does the coach speak English? +
Yes, Coach Kota speaks basic conversational English — enough to run a tennis lesson. He is not a fluent speaker, but tennis instructions, drills, and simple conversation are no problem. LINE communication (booking, questions) is also handled in basic English, so you don't need Japanese to book or take a lesson.
I'm a complete beginner. Is that OK? +
Absolutely! All skill levels are welcome, from people who have never held a racket to advanced competitive players. Lessons are fully personalized to your current level and goals.
Do I need to bring my own racket or equipment? +
No, rackets and balls are provided for free. Just bring sportswear and indoor court shoes (clean soles). If you don't have indoor shoes, they can be rented at the venue.
Can I play even during winter or rainy days? +
Yes! The court at PLACE OF SPORTS NEO is fully indoors, so lessons are available year-round regardless of weather. Even during Hokkaido's snowy winters, you can enjoy tennis comfortably.
What is LINE and how do I use it? +
LINE is Japan's most popular free messaging app (similar to WhatsApp). Download it from the App Store or Google Play, then tap our "Book via LINE" button to add us as a friend. Send us a message with your preferred date and time, and we'll reply in simple English.
How do I get to the venue from central Sapporo? +
The easiest option is a taxi from Sapporo Station (about 20–25 min). Alternatively, take the Tozai Line subway to "Bus Center Mae" station, then a JR Hokkaido Bus (about 25 min total). If you're driving, there's free parking with 30+ spaces.
What does the court rental fee include? +
The court rental fee is charged by the venue and covers the use of the indoor court. It varies by season and time of day. This is separate from the lesson fee. Coach Kota will help you arrange the court booking and explain the costs.
Can I bring a friend? +
Yes! Up to 2 people can participate at the same time. It's a great way to enjoy tennis together with a friend or partner.
